Israeli soldiers check the car of a Palestinian driver passing through a new checkpoint on route 443, which opened for Palestinian cars on may 28, 2010. Route 443 had been closed off by Israel to Palestinian vehicles since 2002 after a series of shooting attacks on Israeli vehicles. The Israeli Supreme court issued an order allowing Palestinian drivers to start using certain parts of road 443 starting today.
